What does this mean to you?
You know when it feels like you're speaking a completely different language from someone else, even when you're both speaking English?
It's not a language barrier, this communication gap is a meaning barrier.
This gap leads to misunderstandings that affect your relationships and your business. And I’m going to show you how to fix it.
You say 'Let's catch up soon,' and your friend hears 'She doesn’t want to talk to me anymore.'
You say 'Clean your room,' and your child hears 'Shove everything under the bed!'
Customer service says 'Your call is important to us,' and you hear 'Another 20-minute flute solo, yay!'
Sound familiar?
Misinterpretations like these derail conversations and create unnecessary tension in all your relationships.
Whether it's with your spouse, business partner, or client, we all face this issue.
It’s time to bridge the gap.
The Bridge-Building Exercise
Create a new email.
Copy and paste this list inside it.
Next to each, type 3 words that come to mind.
Trust
Finances
Success
Teamwork
Commitment
This is cheating a little bit but I’m going to show you my list before step 4.
Trust: Fragile, Integrity, Transparency
Finances: Misconceptions, Security, Freedom
Success: Impact, Sailboat, Fulfillment
Teamwork: Collaboration, Effort, Synergy
Commitment: Dedication, Loyalty, Difficulty
Compare your list to my list. What’s the same? What’s different? Are we speaking the same language?
Put [email protected] in the send-to box and share your response and feedback with me.
WHY?
Because I want to have a better relationship with you.
And I want YOU to have better relationships in your life!
This exercise will help in improving relationships but it's truly about understanding people - and once you get that the possibilities are endless.
I use this strategy with my clients and their clients all the time.
Bonus: When you reply I’ll send you an exclusive, high-value worksheet with advanced strategies to fully bridge the communication gap.
Looking forward to hearing from you!
