IT CAN BE even clearer
but I am not in the eyeglasses business
Everything seems pretty clear already.
So when you go into your eye exam, it feels like it’ll be a quick appointment.
The doctor sits you down and you look at that chart - E!
So obvious. So clear.
And then the doctor flips a handle on that crazy machine.
“Oh wait a second, yes that’s an E but it’s a little clearer now”
Doc decides to flip another handle, another lens.
“WOW, oh this is weird. It’s even more clear now”
I will be guest-lecturing at the University of South Florida business school on Thursday. GO BULLS!
In preparing for the students, it got me thinking, Have I ever provided you enough clarity on what I do?
You deserve some clarity about myself, what I do best, and how that may impact you.
Because like that letter E, your answer may have been sitting right in front of you the whole time.
But it wasn’t until somebody provided a new lens to look through, that it became crystal clear.
Brian was a lighthouse in my foggy return to shore! Even after 12 years in my business, I was having trouble discerning the right direction on my own.
The Clarity You Didn't Know You Needed
Just like that eye exam, sometimes we think we see our business landscape clearly. We're hitting our targets, our strategy is in place, but what if it could be clearer? What if you could see opportunities you didn't even know existed?
🎯 Action Step: Take 10 minutes today to jot down your business goals for the 4th quarter. Now, ask yourself, "Is this the clearest vision I can have for my business?"
I left our session with a better understanding of myself and some easy actionable processes to incorporate right away.
The Power of a Fresh Perspective
A new lens doesn't change what's in front of you; it changes how you see what's already there. That's the power of a fresh perspective. It can turn overlooked assets into valuable resources and minor customers into major revenue streams.
🎯 Action Step: Identify one overlooked aspect of your business. It could be an underutilized employee skill, a neglected customer segment, or even a forgotten marketing channel. How can you leverage it?
His insights on business planning and financing have proven invaluable, positioning me for success in my next venture.
The "Aha" Moment
The moment the doctor flips that lens and everything becomes clearer—that's the "Aha" moment we all crave in business. It's the moment when the fog lifts, and the path forward is not just visible but vivid.
🎯 Action Step: Schedule a brainstorming session with your team or, if you're a solopreneur, with a business mentor. Aim for at least one "Aha" moment that brings clarity to your strategy.
Brian delves deep into the core of a business and the owner’s vision and goals, providing well-thought-out solutions and recommendations that often lead to lightbulb moments!

P.S. As we remember our fallen heroes this week (including the civilian men and women lost on 9/11 and the countless we’ve lost since then) I wanted to provide you some clarity on how that day impacted me.
I’ve attached a tweet I wrote yesterday, you can click on it to read my story.
If you have a story from 9/11 I’d love to hear it too. Reply and let me know.
Driving frantic with no radio on, I had no idea what was happening behind me…
But let’s back up a bit:
Sept 10 was on a Monday 22 years ago.
On Tuesdays I had been doing one thing for a while - heading to the World Trade Center to check on an installation we were putting in… twitter.com/i/web/status/1…
